Meshless simulation of a lid-driven cavity problem with a non-Newtonian fluid

The purpose of the present paper is to solve lid-driven cavity problem for a non-Newtonian power-law shear thinning and thickening fluid by meshless method. Results are presented Re=100 Re=1000, where different levels considered. Furthermore, case made geometrically more complex adding several circular-shaped obstacles in geometry. Navier-Stokes equations solved with local diffuse approximate weighted least squares approximation structured using second-order polynomial basis vector Gaussian weight function. explicit Euler scheme used perform artificial time stepping. non-incremental pressure correction couple velocity fields. terms viscosity contours, stream function, vectors, mid-plane profiles steady state. numerical method verified comparison results obtained from literature, which computed finite element formulation. an investigation node density distribution type performed. A near perfect match reference solution between unstructured found.
